Students using tools and accommodations

If I sent a pdf file through MasteryConnect, can the students still use the tools and accommodations?  I set up a practice test, clicked all the appropriate boxes for students to use in tools, but the students were unable to use them, i.e. highlight, underline, cross out, etc...How can the students use them?  When I was setting up the practice test, I clicked on all the tools I wanted them to use, but when they brought it up on their iPad, they could not use them.

Hi Debbie,

The tools and accommodations are only for item-based assessments known as "enhanced accommodations" assessments. So your PDF document-based assessment will not display the tools and accommodations when the students take it. You can tell if an assessment supports EA by looking at the assessment in the Assessments page.

Thank you.  So, there is no way for my students to use the highlighting tools if I have the document-based assessment?  No tools can be used at all?  That is disappointing!
