We require our teachers to have certain information on all of their assignment pages. I am looking for a way I would create a template so when teachers create a new assignment all required items are listed for them so they do not have to type them all up. The only way somewhat workable way I thought we can do this is to create a Page with all the information on it but it is cumbersome since teachers would have to find the page and copy the content and paste it on the RCE for each assignment they create. Is anyone else doing something similar? I hope this makes sense.
I am quite new to Canvas, but have been learning all I can. Would it be possible in the interim to just create a rubric with all the information? Teachers can click to add the rubric to their assignment. They can then easily copy the content from the rubric, paste it into the assignment, and work from there.
Again, I am new, but I just learned how to create a rubric and add it to a new assignment (which I have gleefully been doing all afternoon), so I thought this might be helpful until someone who knows more than I do can offer a solution.
Or perhaps you could create a "dummy" assignment with all the elements in it, then simply go to it and duplicate it.
Hi There!
One option is to use Commons. You can save the template to Canvas Commons for your institution- and teachers can import it to their courses and then duplicate it and edit it throughout the course.
I agree with @ckofeldt . You can share an assignment to the commons with all of the instructions and details you wish to include. You can also link to the assignment in the Commons so teachers do not have to search for it and make sure they have the right one. You also have the ability to update the assignment if you want the wording or information to change and your instructors will still go to the same link to get the information.
