We were told that Catalog would be the perfect fit as an online registration system, but when we implemented it, we found that it lacked so much capability (including basic design needs), only about 30% of it was useful. We were told that no future improvements are going to be made to this expensive add-on, including custom ones. And tech support doesn't know what Catalog even is. So what is going on with Catalog and making it a more useful product?

Is anyone able to share a summary of the Catalog Collaboration meeting hosted at InstructureCon 2017?
@swinter were you able to investigate any of your concerns while at InstructureCon?
I didn’t even hear about it, which really bugs me. I found out about it afterwards when people referred to it.
What I did learn after was the nothing is going to be done with Catalog until sometime in 2018.
I would like to know what happened at that meeting too.

Hi @swinter and @trinaadams I am in charge of the unofficial Catalog collaboration group for Higher Education. But, I have been informed non-higher education users on the side. What I know from Instructure is that you should have been sent a survey by your CSM asking for feature requests about Catalog. I talked to a few people who are in charge of product and they said they need to upgrade AWS before installing the features mentioned.

Hey clcavana, it looks @scottdennis was seeking a group leader or two over on the group voting page about an hour after this. He inquired if you and @jsowalsk were interested in volunteering. Jessica has already responded. I'd respond to him over there and see where it goes from there.
Hi. I am back in the office now. I can help for a while, but we are actually going to move away from using Catalog in the next several months because we had to rebuild so much, of what was promised, in a different system. I may not be a good long-term option, but I can help while I am still an active user.
