What is the Modern Quizzing Engine all about? The answer to this question doesn't require multiple choice! Join the Canvas team to learn about the evolution of testing in Canvas.
Hey Deactivated user, I am not sure if this should be addressed here or not, but I got Outlook invites for this breakout session at least ten times. I accepted it 9 times ago and they are still coming! I just keep deleting all the extra invites, but wondering if anyone else is getting it ten times, or am I the chosen one? Thanks!
Yes, I am getting multiple calendar invites for many session, not just this one.

Not sure what is going on. I have alerted the community team. I'm not sending out the invitations.
Regards,
Jason
Thanks for your response! Yes, I am getting multiple invites for others as well, but this one by far beat the record - take a look below!
With all the sessions, I am over 100 calendar invites. Really out of control.
Hopefully they will fix it soon! I wasn't sure where to address it, but when this one started multiplying like crazy, I thought this was as good of a place as any other to bring it to their attention!
Thank you, all.
We are doing out best to minimize the notifications as our events team makes sure all of the sessions have the most up to date information. Unlike other features of the Community, events does not have a way to deactivate a notification when an update is made.
Yes, I got them more than 10, I started deleting them after I reply the 3rd.

Glad I'm not alone as well! I was beginning to think maybe I had somehow opted myself in to multiple invites! (I also keep having mini panic attacks of "Ahh what crisis is going on??" :smileyshocked: when I see my in box numbers, followed by "Oh never mind....more invites." :smileyplain:)
Is this going to be a live videofeed of this session? Or just sound feed? Or screenshare of the presentation laptop? I'd really like to be able to comment/participate, but I am in the UK.
@drimmer , none (or very few) of the sessions will be live streamed in any way. The best way to check out these sessions will be after the conference. After the conference Canvas posts video of all the sessions online on YouTube and here in the Community. As an example, check out what got posted for last year - InstructureCon 2015 - YouTube & InstructureCon 2015 Video
Hope this helps!
Okay, thanks, @kona . I had hoped for live tweets or similar...nevermind.
@drimmer , people will definitely be live tweeting from InstructureCon (they'll be competing for badges DIGITAL MERIT BADGES (instcon16) ) ! Look for the hashtag #instcon when you're following the events on Twitter.
Yes, definitely live tweeting!!
Definitely keep an eye on the Instcon space here in the community. Lots of people will be posting pics and live blogging the sessions. Twitter will also probably be very active
For those of you who missed this session, a few folks have been re-capping their thoughts in their blog posts. Check out and feel free to keep the conversation going:
Lots of great discussion here!!
Hi Deactivated user, I really enjoyed your presentation on the new Quiz Tool at InstructureCon. With the plan of new quizzing tool are new granular permissions/roles being developed at the same time?
What sort of permissions are you wanting?
So currently assignments and quizzes are lumped together as one and while quizzes can be assignments, "dropbox" like items and turnitin papers are not really quizzes. The current setting for this "tool" is: Manage (add/edit/delete) assignments and quizzes
its the new tool it would be nice to see quizzes pulled out of being grouped with assignments (especially if it is going to be its own LTI-like tool). It would also be nice to see the Add, Edit, and Delete as separate settings. This will allow admins to set TAs (or other roles) to only having the permissions needed. For example, just the ability to edit assignments but not delete or add one.
Ah yes. Thank you. We will work on permissions as we develop the tool.
Awesomely fantastic! Woo hoo!!
Is the new Quizzing tool being built using LTI 2.0 standards, or an older LTI specification?
This session recording is now available here:
Thank you for sharing...exciting features coming. Can't wait!
Really awesome upgrade. I love that you can integrate questions with content so much more tightly, and the much improved item bank management. I didn't see the option for immediate (question-by-question) feedback with point deduction for second tries. So, if it's true that's not there, then I'm going to have to try to keep my LTI solution for formative assessment going. Any way to peek at the new API? I'm assuming there are changes, and in fact, I'm guessing there is a whole new set of endpoints for the new engine, since you are saying they will co-exist for a time. Documentation for developers available at all?
Hey Becky,
I very much admire your enthusiasm. Unfortunately I don't think we are there yet with the API access or documentation but its all coming.
What do you mean we have to wait?
