The use of academic data should have a positive impact on student learning but, does it really? We’ll examine how you can leverage the wealth of data within the Canvas Data Portal, combining it with other student performance measures to positively impact teacher development and student learning.
I'd like to thank you for signing up to attend our session! I look forward to visiting with you Wednesday. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. mike.charland@birdvilleschools.net
I have looked into the data portal while working on several solutions, and am very interested to learn more.
Primary areas of interest have been rubric/outcome related, which has pushed my back towards the API so far.
Looking forward to the session, and learning more about how others are leveraging this tool.
Hi Garth,
I agree I hope most will eventually migrate to the rubric related data. The structure we are building and the one I'll be talking about as an example, is one that is based on using Canvas rubrics in a teacher development process. I'm currently attempting to get a mock Canvas structure set up so I can pull it through our data portal export in our live version to show however, the way our user account load is set up we have chosen not to load a bunch of fictitious user accounts making testing down to an enrolled 'student' difficult.
I'm hoping the most important thing that comes from this will be a network of folks that will share ideas. I have 2 Sr. Developers and 3 Jr. Developers that work for me. They are fairly talented query writers and we have some capacity to help others and are willing to do that.
