Hello, our course closed Saturday at Midnight. A student submitted 2 late assignments on Saturday. How can our instructors submit a grade for that assignment, now that the course is closed? It is all locked and we are unable to edit or submit anything. Thank you.
Hi @PatriciaNanneng ,
You'll need to adjust the course settings and (at least temporarily) extend the end date of the course to allow grades to be entered.
The course settings for the dates are grayed out. It will not let me redo them to reopen.
Hi @PatriciaNanneng,
Are you an administrator on Canvas, or just a teacher in the course? You may need administrator permissions to override the course end date after the course has gone into read-only mode.
I should be the admin. How do I get that changed if I am not? I am the director of our program.
Are you using the "Free for Teachers" version of Canvas, or are you using your school's Canvas server? If you are using your school's Canvas server, you will want to contact the Help Desk/Canvas Support at your school.
We are using the Free for Teacher version. We are not associated with a school. We do not have an Admin assigned. How do we assign or make someone an Admin without having one to start?
It is not possible for you to have admin access on the Free for Teacher version of Canvas.
Have you gone to Settings > Participation in the course, and changed the End date for the course?
Yes, it is grayed out and unable to change it.
