How can large .imscc files (over 500 MB) be imported into Canvas?

I am trying to import a .imscc file from another teacher for my course. But I am getting an error.

Is there a way to get around this 500MB limitation?

Hello there, @drjohnsoned2020 …

You’d probably need to have a conversation with your school’s local Canvas administrator or someone from your school’s Online Learning/eLearning department to see if they would be willing to increase the course size for you.  This is something you may or may not be able to change on your own via your course “Settings” screen.  They would have to increase the total course size enough so that it exceeds the total size of that IMSCC file that you are trying to import into the course.

Unfortunately, the Free For Teachers version of Canvas has a cap of 500 MB per course.  So you'll need to find a way to reduce the amount of files and content in your course so that you can then put that content into your FFT version.  Check out the linked PDF file in this document:
