Can I export outcomes to a CSV file?

Hello @CourtCassar ...
There is a way to export outcomes at the Canvas account level ... but that would give you a listing of all outcomes used for the entire account ... not just for a specific course. If you are a Canvas administrator at your school, you can use this Guide to run the report called "Outcome Export": How do I view reports for an account? - Instructure Community
I hope this will help a bit.

Thank you for this!
How is this helpful? Why would I want all the course outcomes for an entire university? I want to export outcomes from my course as they do not copy well to other courses and I'm a coordinator for 4 other faculty.
This was not helpful at all. I spent a lot of time writing outcomes and I'm changing districts. I really want to access them. I exported them as an imscc file but I can't find a way to import it into a Free Canvas teacher course. Help!!!
@MattyBarth1 ...
Since you already have an *.imscc file downloaded to your computer, are you able to upload that file to your FFT (Free For Teacher) Canvas course by following the steps in this Guide?
How do I import a Canvas course export package? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Please keep Community members posted...thanks!
I have been playing around with this for a few weeks now. I created a course with just the outcomes. Then I put it on Commons. Then I imported it into my Free Canvas course and it worked! Yay!
I can handle the logistics of copying outcomes from course to course, as all of my courses are within the same account, but what I'd really like to do is *report* the outcomes - to print them out in some manner that allows me to proof them, check to ensure all have the correct scoring scheme, etc., and to discuss those with my administration, without having everyone logged into Canvas and clicking through some 30+ Learning Objectives.
It would also be helpful to see them in a grid format when drafting a rubric, so I can ensure mapping and that I don't overlook anything. However, I find that there is a dearth of reporting overall in Canvas (e.g., I can export the gradebook, but I can't get a report that lists all of my assignments and their creation and due dates).
Can you point me to something other than speaking to an IT person who is already overburdened in our small district?
Hi @RutledgeR_TCS ...
Unfortunately, that Outcomes report I referenced in my early reply is the only thing I'm aware of. There may be other ways to get what you are asking for (such as APIs or by other means), but that is all back-end stuff that is beyond my scope of knowledge. There may be others here in the Community that might know how to get something similar to what you are asking for, but I will have to defer to those folks. Hopefully someone will chime in soon. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
We are having the same issue of not being able to export course level outcomes to a sub-account level. Our university is starting to use course coordinators in different departments and we are needing to import the outcomes into the sub-account. Individual instructors have taken the time to create effective outcomes and now want to use them on a larger scale. Any help or work around is appreciated.
Hi @JeffreyJennings,
Unfortunately, I don't think it's currently possible to take a course level outcome and transfer/export it to an account level one. Relatedly, it's not possible to move outcomes from one account/subaccount to another either. We enter all of our outcomes at the root account level so they are available to all courses and we can run reports at the root level if we need to to capture all of the relevant data. I know this probably isn't the answer you were hoping to get, but I think someone is going to have to just manually recreate the desired outcomes at an account level.

Just to follow up on this, if I with my instructor account create outcomes and persuade my associate dean (the admin-level account holder) to adopt these standards for the whole school, is there any way beyond the associate dean hand-jamming them for them to be transferred to the school level?
