Automatically assign points for viewing a course page?

I have modules with several course pages under them, is there a way to automatically assign points to learners when they view a page? I would like for them to be able to use the gradebook to keep track of which pages they've viewed and which ones remain.

Hi Gruz,

The best way may be to use a quiz, marked discussion or assignments to get them into the grade book. A page content is the same as a quiz question, assignment content and discussion content - if you wanted to, go to the HTML, copy and paste into the HTML of the other content type.

If you want automatic, go for a quiz true/false question or multiple choice based on the content, so that they are actually interacting with it. I use quizzes as formative work all the time and have a % go towards grades, so that students can redo and understand the content.

Eg. Have a video question - watch this video and have a question from the end of it, so that they must watch it. Or you could have Did you watch this? True /False. 🙂

For an assignment, they could just submit a comment once they have read through it.

For a discussion, choose a marked discussion and again ask a question that must be answered. 

Use Speedgrader for both of these to allocate marks afterwards.
