Hi, I would like to seek help to delete my canvas free for teacher account since I created it by mistake. I will no longer use it, so I am requesting that my existing account be deleted. Thank you.
PS: Please, it should be easier and findable in the settings menu. It is the hardest way of deleting an account I've found in my life.
Hi there, @ÁlvaroDV ...
This article has been archived, but I think it's still possible to contact support (per the directions in the Guide) to get your FFT account deleted:
I hope this will be of help to you.
Hi, it is impossible to find a "contact support" section on my account or anywhere else. It seems that access has been made difficult to avoid losing users – it is the most obtuse platform I've ever used.
You are able to contact support by clicking on the Report a Problem link via your help navigation slide out menu. However, you must be a teacher enrolled in a course in order for this link to appear. They likely don't want students contacting them for no reason, especially since FFT isn't affiliated with a school or another organization.
Hope that helps, too.
It does not help – I am a teacher, but I am not enrolled in any course since it was a mistake (Canvas is not Canva). So, I cannot see the option you mentioned.
What is the method to delete my account? Incredibly, a user cannot delete his/her own account.
Hi there, @ÁlvaroDV ...
It should be pretty easy to enroll yourself into a course. Based on the screenshot you've shared above, click on the "Start a new course" button at the top right corner of your screen. This will create a new course shell for you. Then, once you are in this course, go to the "People" page. You should see your name listed in this course with the "Teacher" role. Click on the "Help" icon again on the left-hand global navigation menu to see if you have the "Report a Problem" link.
I hope this will be helpful to you. Good luck!
I just discovered why this link isn't available to you on your account. It appears that only teacher accounts (users enrolled in at least one course as a teacher) actually have access to the Report a Problem link on the help navigation menu under the free for teacher instance. If you really don't want your account, you can create a new course using the button on the right-hand side of your dashboard page and then see if the link appears!
Hope this helps,
Noah
