Hello,
@James outlined the issue wonderfully, but I just want to add to the feedback. At our university we are in the beginning stages of testing out the Enhanced Rubrics. One aspect of the feature update that immediately raised a cause for concern is the view options within SpeedGrader. The horizontal and vertical view options are presenting a rating score more akin to Canvas Outcomes. I know that if faculty were to click on the rating number, they’d see the associated points, but we’re anticipating that many instructors will be confused by the different display numbers. My question is why isn’t the rating scale in the vertical and horizontal views matching the point value from the traditional rubric? It can be a struggle to get faculty to adopt best practices into their courses and added frustration/confusion is sometimes enough for them to say, "No thank you, I'll stick with the way I was doing it".
Thank you for your time!
My university has enabled enhanced rubrics in our test environment and I have seen the same issue. I showed it to a couple of faculty and they stated that they wouldn't use the horizontal and vertical view options because it doesn't show the point value until you select the rating. They want to see the point value, not the scale options.
Could anyone from Instructure please comment on this issue?
oh my gosh I never noticed this. This is crazy! Surely this is just an oversight. I can't imagine this is intentional lol
