Small Hiccups!

Hey folks! I've noticed a few things in the new discussion/annoucement feature that I thought would be useful to share.

First, I created a discussion, but was unable to add it to a module later. I had to create a new discussion when adding items to the module. It's workable, but a weird quirk!

Secondly, I've been having some difficulty when trying to mark items as read/unread. Everything will have been read but the blue dog still shows up. Not a huge issue, but something I've noticed.

Otherwise it's been working really well so far - thanks for the update!

Hi @cmarsden , thanks for sharing your experiences.

With discussions redesign turned on in my courses, I have created discussions in the Discussion index page and didn't have a problem finding them to add to modules, after I chose to add a "Discussion".  Graded, ungraded, even unpublished showed up for choosing.  I wonder what could be different in your situation?

About marking posts as read, I agree, at first it seemed a bit wonky, but now it seems that if I choose "Mark as read" from the 3 dot options menu on the post, it always works.  And when viewing replies, I like the choice of "Mark thread as read" on the first post, that saves time.  I do miss being able to click the dot itself to toggle between read and unread.

What I really miss is the RCE autosave.  Now if I accidentally click outside of the reply area I lose what I've written.
