API Data Export Issue

We are using a PERL script from https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-6623-how-to-make-an-api-call-with-canvas-data#jive_content_id_PERL? that we need to use for the API to retrieve the Last Login from Canvas. However, every time we execute this we receive an error. Support has told us that the HMAC value from this script is incorrect and we need to fix that. However, the problem with that is that:

• This is not a script that we had written, it was downloaded from their website.
• The script itself does not have an error, therefore we really don’t know what to fix there. 

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

The Canvas Data does contain the last_login_at in the pseudonym_dim table, but it's going to be easier to use the Canvas Data CLI tool to fetch it than going through the Canvas Data API. How to Use the Canvas Data CLI Tool 

I am the one who wrote the Perl code that Canvas combined with examples from other languages in the document you found. Here's a link to the original document with some example values you can hard-code in to verify that the HMAC code is being generated correctly: Canvas Data API Authentication 

However, after discovering the CLI tool, I quickly abandoned any efforts I had to get stuff through the API. It just isn't worth it.

The script worked when I wrote it. However, if Canvas thinks the HMAC code is wrong, make sure that what you entered on lines 25 and 34 are correct or that you're pulling the API key and secret from somewhere. Or use the test case in my original document to make sure that it works properly.
