This morning I made some screen capture videos and they appear in My Library.
When I go to the course I want to embed them in those screen captures do not appear in My Library so I can't embed them. What am I doing wrong?
Good morning, @StephanieHAGAN ...
For clarification, are you using the instructions found in this Guide?
Yes I am using those instructions however the screen captures are not showing up in my library as an option to embed.
Hi @StephanieHAGAN ...
That seems quite strange. Is there a way you could record a screenshot showing what you are seeing in your Studio library (when you click on the "Studio" button on the left-hand global navigation menu) and then when you are trying to embed that video into a course content page?
Yes I have done a screenshot of each and also a 2 screen captures in the studio - 1 saved to my Library in the global navigation studio - the other saved to the course studio - Maybe I'm getting confused between the 2 somehow. I can't work out how to share the screen captures but here are the screenshots.
Hi @StephanieHAGAN,
I am not a Canvas Studio expert at all, but I did notice something on your screenshots. The global navigation menu (on the left) in each of your screenshots has completely different colors. This leads me to wonder if you are teaching at two different schools/universities, or if not, perhaps your single school/university has multiple Canvas instances for some reason. Could you tell us if the first part of the address/url of canvas from each of your screenshots is the same (something like school.instructure.com or canvas.school.edu). Hopefully we'll be able to help you figure this out with this additional info.
-Chris
Thanks for the screenshots @StephanieHAGAN , that does at least show you're on the same overall Canvas instance. aThe completely different videos (and colors) still have me wondering if your school perhaps has some what Canvas calls "subaccounts" where things like studio may be configured differently depending where you're at. When you're in the course (with the black and red colored menu) and you click on the studio icon in the black and red menu, does it end up changing back to blue and white seemingly on it's own?
If you have a school Canvas admin or team (usually in the eLearning / IT / Digital Education areas) this might be something to ask them. Since we in the community here don't have access to your Canvas account or courses or anything, these odd issues can be hard to troubleshoot. We'll definitely continue trying, but your local team may have an explanation right away that it would take us a few days to think of and figure out for certain.
-Chris
YES!!! it does change from the red and black to the blue and white.
Thanks for your collective brain power - I will ask the Canvas admin about the subaccounts and try a work around for the screen captures that I can't access 🙂
Cheers
