"Failed to load groups data" error

I was grading a group worksheet and noticed that the students' names are appearing on Speed Grader, and not the group names which had already been pre-assigned. I thought this was odd so I tried to Edit the assignment, then this message popped up:
"Failed to load Groups data
doFetchApi received a bad response: 404"
I'm still able to grade but am only able to assign points to one student, and not the group (probably the one getting the grade is the one who submitted the assignment on Canvas).
The assignment is due tonight so I've decided to extend so that Canvas doesn't assign zeroes yet.
Has anyone else encountered this? If so, how did you fix it?

Hello,
Did you try to reach out to Canvas Support? (does your district/school pay for support from Canvas?) They may be able to tell you what that error code is. Otherwise, it's hard to troubleshoot without being able to see your assignment and groups. But I might suggest trying to clear the cache --just in case it helps.
