organization of inbox

Right now, messages in my inbox seem to be organized by conversation thread. This is a mess. I often cannot locate messages because they are in the midst of a string. Replies are not always listed under "sent" emails.
How can I change the setup so that the emails are separated from their conversation threads, and are simply listed in chronological order (reverse, most recent first)?

Unfortunately, I don't think anything like that exists in the Canvas Inbox (side note, the Canvas Inbox is not e-mail). I looked in my own Inbox, and I couldn't find any settings that you are asking about that would change the view of the order the messages are displayed in within that left-hand column. You might consider submitting this as a Feature Idea here in the Community and see what kind of response you get from other Community members.
