deleted assignments

Hello everyone,

Is there a way for me to recover accidentally deleted assignments from the previous semester? I was trying to move the assignments I created in Semester 2 from one category to another (ex. imported to classwork). However it showed duplicated entries for classwork, so I deleted the duplicated classwork category. When I looked for the graded assignments in Semester 1,  I found out that the classwork category with the graded assignments was gone. It's been less than 5 hours since this happened. I was trying to reach out Canvas hotline, but the dashboard keeps popping up instead.

It would be highly appreciated if anybody could give me the steps to recover deleted assignments.

You might try using the somewhat-known "Undelete" trick.  Undeleting things in Canvas

If this does not work, another option might be to look at either your school's "test" or "beta" Canvas environments.  This won't necessarily bring back student submissions, however, if that is an important factor.

If you use either of these environments, be sure to log out ("Account" >> "Logout" button) before returning to your normal "production" environment (this is the environment you typically log into on a day-to-day basis).
