In the New Quizzes, there is a way to attach a question to a stimulus. Is there a way to randomize the questions, but ensure that the questions that are attached to that stimulus come as a set rather than an individual question? For example, if a map had three questions, those three questions appear with the stimulus rather than a single question and stimulus?

Hi @LindsayBrinkman,
Yes, you should be able to do this if you put your questions into an item bank. If you do that, you can follow the How do I insert stimulus content in New Quizzes? - Instructure Community - 573 guide to create your stimulus, and when you get to the "attach question" section you'll be able to select your item bank (you can further choose to have all questions form the bank, a certain number drawn randomly, assign points, etc).
I hope this info helps!

Hi @LindsayBrinkman.,
I *think* what I described does what you want, though I'm slightly unsure.
Here is the setup in the build area:
And in preview mode, it ends up:
When you select to shuffle the questions for the quiz, it'll shuffle the stimulus blocks themselves here (which is why stimulus 2 is appearing ahead of stimulus 1 in the preview). The randomization of the individual questions in the stimulus blocks comes from the drawing from an item bank (I don't think the questions can be randomizes within a stimulus block unless they come from a bank).
Does this clarify a bit and match what you wanted to do.

Thank you for the quick response. But not really. Let me try and clarify. When I've created a quiz, I want the questions to appear next to the stimulus all at one time, rather than individually. So when I select scramble the questions, the stimulus and its attached questions are mixed randomly, but not showing up individually. Does that make sense?

I believe so. So what I'm thinking is the problem is that I have one question at a time showing. Hmmm. I wish there was a feature that would let you then show one stimulus and its questions at a time. But I guess this will work for the time being. Thank you. 🙂
I have just yesterday used the stimulus questions option in a test. I used an article as a stimulus and I attached 6 comprehension questions to it. There was an option to shuffle the multiple choice options within a question, but not to randomize the questions. All 6 questions do appear with the stimulus though ...
