Lately the updates made to Canvas haven't been great. If I am regrading an assignment I want to see all previous comments - I don't want to have to click on the previous version to see older comments. Having each item in To Do open in a new tab is big time annoying and not helpful at all. I know that one person isn't going to impact things, but there should be some recourse if changes don't make things better and easier.

Hello @michaels I can make a few suggestions, first I would reach out to your schools Canvas admin as they likely communicate with your institution's CSM who can report your sentiments directly to Canvas.
Secondly, I would post your idea to the idea area of Canvas and that will spark conversation, get votes, and may lead to a change. Generally if you have a frustration with Canvas, there are others that feel the same and collectively this can lead to a change.

Hope this helps!

Hi! Another amazing option is to share your response/feedback in-context with the announcement of the new features, right in the Release Notes. Comments are welcome in the release notes for discussing announced feature functionality. Each feature in the release notes includes a Q&A link for feature discussion.

This is seriously the worst design. It does not lend to ease of use, much less foster meaningful discussions where the students (and professor) can easily scroll the thread to read and interact with other students. Everything has to be opened with the "reply." Also, if I need to find a comment or even want to double back to check on a thread I started, I have to open every single table to find where I even started the discussion. This is time-consuming and frustrating. Also, there is a huge glitch in the system, and the posts are not always coming up sequentially. Please put the system back the way you had it, OR at least allow people to choose between the old version and this new version if that is what they prefer. There was no reason to change something that was working quite well. This version does not promote or foster easy discussions, which is the entire point of a discussion feed. If you have to actually look for a response, students aren't going to take that extra step. So, they are missing my comments and those who respond to them as they can't automatically see the posts without taking the step to hit that reply button. So now, they just randomly choose who to respond to because they don't think to click on everything "reply" to see where I have prompted a group chat/discussion based on what someone posted.
