What are the advantages of activating course-level outcome mastery scales?

We currently have course-level outcome mastery scales turned off for our account. This is because we have several different departments using outcomes in our main accouunt and don't want to enforce one mastery scale for everyone.

I have numerous people asking to activate it, though, so they can customize the mastery scales in their courses. From my point of view, if I activated it, I would have to move all outcomes to their specific sub accounts and recreate the mastery scale for each subaccount, which wouldn't be a big deal, I'm just wondering if that would be the best course of action.. Perhaps I should post this in the admins forum?

Has an1yone had experience using outcomes for a larger school with 100+ subaccounts?
