I (course instructor) want to pass a document through Turnitin without using the "upload" function in an assignment.
(I tried to make a test assignment and to upload the document through student view but I don't see the turnitin report as instructor)

Hello @GrantSchauer
Thanks for posting this in the global Canvas Community.
I don't think there is a way to do that in Canvas. This is because in order for the plagiarism checker to run a sim check on a submission, it has to be submitted by the student in Canvas.. One thing also worth mentioning is that Student view/test student does not always work with third party apps like turnitin. This might explain why you were unable to do this while in student view.
I believe that you can run the plagiarism checker outside of Canvas inside Turnitin. I think that the process is called "Quick Submit." HERE is some information I found on Turnitin's website for re-submitting on behalf of a student.
Hopefully this helps!
