I'm having trouble embedding photos in my reply where the image saved looks fine and when I embed it, the image is just a gray block. Is there a file size limitation or something similar that is causing this?
Good morning, @KristinSelvala ...
For starters, are you an instructor or a student? Where are you trying to embed an image in your course? If you are an instructor, are you designing a content page in your course? If you are a student, are you posting a reply to a discussion topic that your instructor has assigned to you and your classmates? Could you please provide some additional details so that we could help you out? Thanks!
Good morning. I am a student trying to embed photos in a reply. I've done this successfully many times before when I've taken photos of my work, but for this assignment we had to do research on the web. I'm assuming the jpegs I pulled were too large?
Hi @KristinSelvala ...
Thank you for the reply. Have you checked your personal file storage space to see if you have enough to upload more photos? Take a look at this Guide:
Under the heading "View User Files", you'll see where you can tell how much free space you have available (as a percentage) out of a total available. If you are at your 100%, then you'd need to remove some files before you can add more.
In general, though, you should be able to use the directions in this Guide to upload/embed your image into your discussion reply:
Another option is to try this...which won't really embed the image directly in the reply, but it will attach it to the discussion reply:
If you are still experiencing issues, then you might want to reach out to Canvas Support to see if they have any other suggestions for you. You can contact them by following the steps in this Guide:
Hopefully these links will be of help to you. Sing out if you have any other questions...thanks!
