Time zone errors - Paraguay - please help me

Hello everybody, we have this issue in our CANVAS, our time zone is Asuncion (-3:00 / -3:00), but it seens there is an error, you configure a quizz with a date and CANVAS save it with one hour +,

for example, the time you put is april 4, the canvas change it to april 5 0:59 for some reason, this is getting troublesome with students claiming its our fault and require another whole day for delivering their quizz etc. canvas SUPPORT doesnt anwser any email nor ticket, thats why im asking again here for a solution

It is probably due to the timezone used by Canvas, and that Paraguay used to have DST until last year.

In their GitHub page, I couldn't find a mention of tzinfo-data, maybe their system is using a version previous to 2025a or 1.2025.1. If so, the issue should go away whenever they update it. Hopefully it happened 3 days ago, with the latest Canvas release, or perhaps it will happen tomorrow, with the new deploy.

What I recommend in the meantime is having the quizzes be due by default at 10PM, or perhaps 10:59PM, so you at least guarantee it will be on the intended day.

I have two questions:

If you are a Canvas admin , you should be able to escalate your ticket to your school's Canvas CSM.

If you are not a Canvas admin, reach out to your school's Canvas team and ask them to get in contact with your Canvas CSM.
