Hello team

So I have come across a specific field while I am creating a quiz (New Quizzes). That is the "submission type" field which is not edible. Please see the attached screenshot.

Does anyone know its functionality and if it can be edible how we can do it?

For some reason it is bypassed in the official guide.

Thank you!

The submission type field in your screen shot is the same field you would see in other types of Canvas assignments. If you start creating an assignment, you can choose online submission, external tool, paper, or no submission there. When you start creating a New Quiz, Canvas creates an assignment that will connect to the New Quiz (which is in a separate application) and sets the submission type as external tool with New Quizzes set as the tool. If you could edit those fields, it would mean you could change which LTI the assignment connects to or which kinds of submissions students will make to Canvas. But then it wouldn't be a New Quiz assignment.

Hi @FotiosGkouvas

The "Submission Type" field in New Quizzes is intentionally locked and not editable. It's automatically populated with "External Tool" and the URL for New Quizzes itself. So, you don't need to worry about changing that field. It's working as intended, and you can focus on building your awesome quiz questions!

I hope this helps,
