The Plus Sign to add content to a module is grayed out

I cannot add quizzes, pages, links or anything else to the the modules--the Plus sign is grayed out. Why is that? How do I fix it?

Never mind...I think I fixed it. I'm not sure how to delete this message now that it has been posted.

@NeilKane You can delete your own post by clicking on the three-dot menu and selecting Delete [Message and Replies]. However, I'm sure the members of this forum would benefit from hearing how you resolved this, if you have a moment to post your solution.
