SpeedGrader: Missing Comments & Greyed-Out Reassign Button After Enrolment Change

We are experiencing an issue in Speed Grader where the 'Reassign' option is greyed out, preventing us from reassigning submissions. This issue has occurred after, and seems to be linked to, an unexpected enrolment change that moved students between their individual named Markers (where they are manually assigned to for marking) back to Markers 1 & 2 (where their submissions are uploaded to initially). The associated named marker comments and annotations are now missing from Speed Grader, Gradebook history, and exported submissions.
Has anyone encountered this issue before, and is there a way to restore or reattach the missing comments and annotations? Additionally, what could be causing the 'Reassign' button to be disabled?
We've been in contact with Canvas and Instructure support for three weeks trying to get assistance with this and have still got no closer to getting our marks back!
