I'm an instructor, and I'm having an issue where after I have typed a few words into the Assignment Comment box, the cursor "refreshes," for lack of a better word, and moves out of the box while I am still typing. I am wondering if it has something to do with the stored comments associated with the Assignment Comment box because that little icon will flash when this happens. My colleague is having a similar issue where his cursor moves back to the top of the box. We are both using Google Chrome. I have not yet tried a different browser because this issue has only been happening over the last few weeks, so I am wondering if it is something to do with Speedgrader or the Rich Content Editor itself.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I've been having this issue recently as well. While not ideal, I've found I've been able to fix this temporarily by clicking the comment library button and then switching off "Show suggestions while typing".
Seems to be the same issue as this other post, still unsolved as well: Speedgrader issues
Thanks for the link, Gabriel. I replied to that thread too.
@beerline_n -- When you click on Help in your Global Navigation menu, do you have the option to contact Canvas Support? If this is a glitch, it's best to report it with them.
Yes, I have that option and will do so. Just wanted to see if anyone else had a simple fix first. 🙂
I have also been experiencing this "glitch" for the past 2 weeks or so- started in March for me. I though it was my keyboard or perhaps my computer but I work on different devices and it is across the board.

Just coming back to say that I tried this, and it solved the problem. I don't want automatic suggestions anyway, so turning this option off was very helpful for me.
Thanks! I am going to try that! I suspected that it was something to do with the comment library, but I didn't know there was a button to switch it off. That makes sense!
