Rich content editor not showing CSS - but published page is

Hi fellow Canvas users, just looking for some advice.

We have a CSS style guide that helps us produce pages that look like my example attached (#1). 

The Rich content editor would usually display the pages with the styling, but more recently, it has stopped doing so. The end result is something like my other example attached (#2). 

When saving a page, the end result is fine, the styling is applied. But it is very frustrating not being able to effectively preview it in the rich content editor mode. 

I've cleared my cache and done hard refreshes, but to no avail.

That first image looks very slick, let me say.  I also have some CSS at my institution for drop shadow elements and the shadows appear on publish but not in the RCE.  It's interesting that you had the RCE preview, because my code never rendered until the page was saved.
