Random faded fonts in Canvas quizzes

When I am writing a quiz in Canvas, I am having an issue that random sentences of text are faded.  I copy and paste the question and answers from a Google doc.  There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for the faded text.  But, it occurs by line.  For example, the entire line of answers b and d will be faded in a multiple choice question.  

It isn't a huge deal, but my students think it's something they should try to decipher its meaning and is distracting.  So, if I can prevent it, I would like to.

Could it be that the issue stems from you copying/pasting text from your Google doc into Canvas?  Are you able to take a look at the HTML side of the answers for "b" and "d" to see what the code looks like compared to your other possible answer choices "a" and "c"?  Maybe you have some rogue HTML code that is causing the text to be faded sometimes and not other times.  It would be hard to know without actually looking at the code to know if this is the culprit.

I agree with @Chris_Hofer  that the culprit may be in your HTML code. I recently have been having trouble with copying and pasting, both from outside sources into Canvas and from one part of a Canvas page to another part of that same page. I often end up with extra lines of code for no apparent reason. I can see "artifacts" in view mode but not in editing mode, and the only way to remove them is to find them in the HTML and delete them. I pretty much know "just enough" about HTML to know how to find the rogue code and eliminate it. I still have no idea why it's happening in the first place.

You could also try using a HTML cleaner website to clean up any code that has those extra artifacts in there.  I have a blog posting on this topic: HTML Cleanup.
