Pinning a Reply to Top of Discussion

Hello Canvas Support!

My question:

As a teacher, how do I pin a reply to a discussion thread?  I want all students to read it, so don't want it to go to the bottom of the thread.

This isn't a feature that currently exists in Canvas.  It is a feature that users have suggested in the Ideas‌ forum once a while, but they've never collected a lot votes.  You are welcome to resubmit the idea if you like.

It might be that a lot of people don't bother visiting forums & just move on.
To be frank, it's ridiculous that such a basic feature is missing in a forum.
It disincentivizes the use of discussions as a means of evaluation and communication between students.
