Niche Academy

I'm looking to house professional development material on Canvas for my organization and I'm running into a snag with the Niche Academy LTI. We currently have access to Niche Academy, and it generates certificates when someone completes a video lesson on that platform. I've added a few of these lessons to Canvas as assignments, but I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly constitutes "completion" of a lesson in Canvas. The assignment prompts students to open the external tool in a new window, and it seems like that's all it does. I'm hoping that there's a way to track completion of these assignments in Canvas, even if we still have to go to Niche to get the certificates. It doesn't seem like it's possible to have users submit their certificates on the same assignment page as the Niche video itself, which is frustrating. How can I track users' progress on completing tutorial videos using Niche and Canvas together, or do I need to be looking at a different LMS altogether?

@LaurenBWatson You may want to contact Niche Academy support for more assistance with the behavior of their LTI (it is developed by Niche Academy and not Canvas), but in regards to tracking completion in Canvas you may want to consider setting requirements in the modules of the course to either submit or earn a certain grade on the Niche Academy assignments.  This will allow the course completion to be tracked in Canvas for the assignments via the Modules in the course.  More on module requirements can be found in How do I add requirements to a module?
