Most recent Discussion topic does not appear on homepage (YES it is published!)

My partner teacher recently created a new Discussion topic. I can view this topic when I click on "Discussions," but on the course landing page it does not appear. Yes, the topic is published. I've attached screenshots of both the course landing page and the Discussion page below. 

Am I missing something really obvious?? Where did Topic 7 go??

Hi,

New discussions in the Discussions area do not automatically get added to the Modules area.   Each of the Discussions links was individually added to the "Discussions" module.  The "Discussions" module doesn't actually point to the Discussions area--it's just a placeholder to put links to individual discussions.

Aha, okay. I have to add it manually. I just managed to do that. Thank you for your time and for the answer!
