Modules not visible to students

I am not able to get one of my module's content to appear in a course.

• I went into settings and moved the module to a different location
• I have disabled, saved, re-enabled, saved
• the module and each of the content items have green check marks next to it
• The other module in the same course is visible
• I have unpublished everything and republished it again

 still no luck getting the content to be seen in student view under this module

Just some questions to help rule out what might be going on.

1. I presume you mean using the option to view as a student? Have you tried asking a student to view it?
2. What are the term dates? This will be in the course Settings. If outside the term window, this could be a possible cause.
3. Is the course published?
4. You mention moving the module to a different location in settings. Do you mean moving the position on the Modules page or something else? This is not usually done in course settings.
5. You mention disabled, saved, reenabled, saved. Are you talking about content in the module?

Hoping maybe some answers might help us to better assist you in solving what is going on.

Quick question: have you been using the "assign to" option for these modules?

The reason I ask: whenever I used the student view, there used to be added a 'testcursist' (in Ducht, no idea what i would be called in English) to the course. That one doesn't appear under 'people' anymore, but I do think somewhere under water this testcursist is still added and is not assigned to a specific section. If you assign modules to section, then all other participants op de course will not see those modules. Therefor the student view will also not be able to show the module: it wasn't assigned to this 'fake student'.

I don't work for Instructure, but I think this might be it, at least if you assign modules to students/sections.

The testcursist would be the test student role when people click on the "View as Student" button at the top right corner of content pages within a Canvas course.  Here is more information on that:

UPDATE

What finally worked for me was to delete the assignments from the module and then add them back to the module.  The other thing that I did differently was, in addition to assigning the entire module and all parts, I assigned each assignment individually and added a start and end time to the assignments.  Once I did those two things, they were viewable by the students.
