In Canvas - under Quizzes
I have two Quizzes
Quiz 1 --- 10 questions
Quiz 2 --- 15 questions
How do I merge these two quizzes in one quiz , rename it Quiz 3 with 25 questions
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi, @msafaee . There is a great discussion and solution for this at Merging two quizzes together. There are probably a few ways to accomplish this such as duplicating the quiz with the most questions and then pull in the other questions from the associated question/item bank.
I followed these steps to merge Quiz A into Quiz B:
1. Go to course settings > export content
2. Export type: quiz
3. Select the "Quiz A" and download the zip file
4. Go to settings > import content
5. Content type: qti zip file and upload the zip file from step 3
6. Default question bank: create new question bank
7. Edit Quiz B
8. Go to the bottom of the question tab, click the "find questions" button and select the newly imported question bank
9. Select all questions, add them to a new question group in Quiz B, and save

What if the questions were hand entered, they did not come from a question bank.

How do you do step 6? Thank you for the help!
When you are on the import content page, there is a drop down box to choose the question bank that you want the questions to go into or you can choose, "Create New Question Bank," and put the questions that you are importing in its own question bank to make them easy to find. You can name the new question bank what you want.
If you want to merge newly designed quizzes on Canvas, this worked for me:
1) export the quiz you want to merge
2) go to item banks in the navigation bar
3) create a bank using the exported quiz and share it with your course
4) go to your quiz > Build > and click on item banks at the top (the exported quiz should show there)
5) click on All/Random with the plus
6) Now you will see that the exported quiz is added
7) Click Preview to double check
Solution accepted! Thanks Miles - I genuinely appreciate your clear, concise and straightforward step-by-step explanation. This should be a model for how to provide help on Canvas. 👍
