How do I delete old classes from last fall and spring semester off my canvas Dashboard so I can only see and focus on the classes I am currently enrolled in?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @sandersb4 , and Welcome to the Canvas Community!
You cannot "d3elete" course cards from your dashboard, but you can keep them from displaying there. Canvas will only display course cards for those course in you main Courses list. You can learn how to hide courses on the list, and thus hide them from your dashboard at https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10570-4212710327
I hope this is helpful,
Kelley
Hi Bailee ....I had the same question and I found out how to remove old courses from your view. You go to "Courses" on Canvas....then go to "All Courses." To the left of each course is a "star"...If the star is colored it will appear on Canvas under your Courses....if it is not colored then it won't. So the courses that you want to view make sure that they are colored and those courses will be the only ones that you will focus on. I hope this was helpful!! Have a Great Semester!!
THANKS, this helped a lot I never knew that you could do this it is so much easier to find my classes without having to scroll through class and class. Thanks again

Hi, a class is showing up on my dashboard that I took over a year ago and in the all courses tab there is no star next to the course name. Other classes have stars next to them but all of my old classes that I finished don’t have stars. How can you remove the class in this instance?
@SophiaOstergren ...
You'll probably want to have a conversation with your school's Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Learning team to see if one or more courses on your Canvas "All Courses" screen can be deleted or not. Each school that uses Canvas as their LMS (Learning Management System) handles this differently, so I wouldn't want to speak on your school's behalf as to how they handle this kind of request. On the University of Minnesota's website, I found the following login page for Canvas:
There is a link on this page for "Technology Help". I'd recommend starting there to see if you can get some assistance...or at least maybe they can guide you to the correct person(s) to help you with your Canvas course(s).
Good luck to you!
thank you this was really helpful have a good rest of your life.
Levy's comment is more to the point here (clicking on the star), so I don't understand why it's not at the top of this exchange. The link provided by the first post does not explain how to make courses disappear, so it's not helpful if you don't read slevy's comment to Bailey underneath it.
This didn't help me with what I needed.
i figured out you need a teacher account to delete you from the course, after that than i will leave your account.
