I want to assign point values (1 through X) for multiple answer quiz questions, but I don't want the students to have the "hint" that a point value would offer. I do not see a "hide point value" option, as I had in Schoology. How do I do this? Thanks!

@steve_peterson , you can't hide point values for quiz questions in Canvas. If you are interested in suggesting that this become a feature in Canvas my recommendation is to comment on it on the following document/discussion - Canvas Studio: Modern Quizzing Engine. Canvas is completely overhauling quizzes so the following document would be the place to make your suggestions.
Hope this helps!

@kona : The link <Canvas Studio: Modern Quizzing Engine> does not lead to a public webpage.
This is certainly a feature Canvas needs to add!
For Multiple Answer questions, students spend more time trying to figure out the point mechanism (how points are awarded) than answering the questions. Instructors need to be able to temporary hide the quiz points so students can focus on the questions and not the points.
It should be an easy feature to implement and should not take long to have the beta version to test.
Thanks in advance.
@marcocurreli , sorry about that! The page has been updated to the following - https://community.canvaslms.com/community/ideas/quizzesnext?sr=search&searchId=eda8bf77-16f5-4552-a7...
This link doesnt lead to an active page either
Thank you for your prompt reply, @kona !
Unfortunately, a feature that would allow to "hide points" for Multiple Answers quizzes is not on the project list. How can we add it? Students spend more time trying to figure out the point mechanism than answering the question correctly.
So... after three years did this essential and simple feature ever get added?
I don't see anything! Very disappointing!
@DE_is_the_pits and @SherryKinzler ...
If you are asking about any changes to current Classic Quizzes, you won't likely see any new development on this part of Canvas because Classic Quizzes will eventually be phased out and replaced with New Quizzes. See:
At our school, we have not yet "flipped the switch" to turn on New Quizzes, so I'm not sure if what you are asking is available in New Quizzes or not. But, I would encourage you to follow some of the conversations in the New Quizzes area of the Community to keep up-to-date on the work Instructure has been and continues to do on this part of Canvas.
This option isn't available in new quizzes either. Seeing the point total distracts during test taking. It makes students stressed out and like other professors, I also find students try to guess how many answers by how many points a question is worth. This is a much needed feature.
I completely agree that hiding the quiz points from students is an important feature that should be implemented in Canvas.
