How do I post a discussion

I tried to post a discussion for my assignment. It's supposed to find a button 'add discussion" but I couldn't find it..

Hi @JulioArteta ...

For starters, are you an instructor or a student?  Generally speaking, students are not usually allowed to add discussion topics in a course.  (Of course, there could be exceptions to this...and you'd have to talk with your instructor about this.)  If you are an instructor, then you should be able to add discussion topics to your course.

• How do I create a course discussion as a student? (be sure to read the info in the light blue box at the top of this Guide...as creating discussion may not be a permission you have as a student)

The ability for a student to add a discussion post within a Canvas course is a setting that must be enabled by your instructor within the course. If the Add Discussion button does not display, your instructor has restricted this setting in your course. I recommend reaching out to your instructor to have them enable this feature.
