Greetings all,
We are switching away from Zoom and using Google Meet instead. When teachers created Zoom meeting using the Canvas integration, it would make the Zoom and put the Zoom link in an event in the Canvas Calendar.
How do we do this with Google Meet?
Hi @ericdano,
Unfortunately, I don't think the Google Meet integration has that functionality available, at least I can say for sure that the one we use at my university does not. Zoom offers a pretty comprehensive integration with Canvas, while the Google Meet integration (again, at least the one we use) really only seems to allow meeting links to be generated and embedded into the Canvas rich content editor (textbox). Perhaps there is another integration I'm not aware of that works more like Zoom, and if there is I hope someone else chimes in and lets us know, but I wanted to get you this basic information form my experience right away.

@ericdano ...
I don't have experience with Google Meet like @chriscas does, but I do agree with his comments about Zoom. In my former role as a Canvas admin in higher education, we had the Zoom intergration in Canvas, and it worked just as you and Chris described.
Are you a Microsoft school? I *think* that the Teams integration would be a similar setup to Zoom, but I know there was some additional configuration that had to be done on the IT side to get everything working. I don't have any of those details any more, however...since I am no longer at that school.
