I am needing to reset my password and have sent in a request and still have not heard anything.

Are you asking about resetting your password for logging in to Canvas?  Or, are you asking about resetting your password for your school e-mail account?  Assuming that you are a student and are needing to reset your Canvas password, then you can look at these Guides:

If you need to reset your password for your e-mail address, however, you'll need to consult your school on how to do that...as we here in the Canvas Community wouldn't be able to assist with that.  They may have an on-site Help Desk that could help you with that.

If you can change your password, there are no password reset intervals, so you can change your password as little or as often as you want. However, you can keep strong passwords effective by changing them often.
