Course Discussion Boards search entries or author

Inside a course discussion board, there is a field to "search entries or author", but the result is not locked, when your search has many entries the page refreshes back to the full discussion.

I believe a solution would be to lock the page in search result mode and have a new button to go back to the full discussion. This way, even if we click on one result, the page would still be in search result mode.
