Correcting a quiz rubric after it has been graded

I only realized after my students completed their Canvas quiz that the responses I marked as being correct in the Canvas answer key are in fact not correct. I have since corrected the answer key, but I cannot get Canvas to regrade the students' submissions. The particular question is a "multiple dropdowns" type question and I have not yet released grades. 

Here's specifically what I did: 

1) Navigate to the published quiz in question, click "Edit".

2) I see a blue warning box that states "Students have either already taken or started taking this quiz, so be careful about editing it. If you change any quiz questions in a significant way, you may want to consider regrading students who took the old version of the quiz. Students have either already taken or started taking this quiz, so be careful about editing it. Perfect, I want to regrade all students, but can't figure out how to do this! 

3) I click on "Questions" and then edit the question in order to change which answer is marked as being correct. I then click "Update question". There is no message asking about whether I would like that question to be regraded. 

4) I click "save" on the quiz overall. When I navigate to the Quiz Statistics tab, it shows the percentage of students who got the correct answer (and uses the correct answer, so this updated correctly). However, when I navigate to a particular student's quiz, I still see that they have points deducted from this question even though they chose the correct answer. In other words, the rubric seems to have been inconsistently updated. 

This has been a problem for me every year and I'm so frustrated because I can't find a solution. I have searched online and can never find the buttons that supposedly say that the quiz will be regraded. Please help me, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong!

Please follow the following steps and see what happens.

1. Edit the quiz question and save changes.
2. Go to "Moderate This Quiz" (on the quiz page).
3. Click the three dots (ellipsis) in the top-right corner.
4. Select "Regrade" to regrade all submissions based on the updated answer key.
5. Check individual student grades and SpeedGrader to confirm changes.

If you don’t see "Regrade," check if it's under the three dots menu in "Moderate This Quiz." If it still doesn't work, contact Canvas support for further help.
