Checkbox for grading

Hi,

I need to create a rto style observation sheet I need it as simple as possible for it to be used in class. Ideally just a checkbox list that teachers tick off that are not rubrics.

Rubrics, as they currently exist, cannot be easily used as "answer keys." The problem is that once the Rubric is attached to an Assignment or a Discussion, the description of the "ratings" is visible to students. That means that the students would be able to see the answers before they submit their work.

There is a "hack," and that is to click the little box that says "I'll write free-form comments when assessing students."  It's inelegant, but it works.

Hi! I'm curious to learn why rubrics wouldn't be a possible solution. You can use them very much like checkboxes (yes / no) with automatic grading. You could decide to have those translate to points or have the completion be pure feedback with a score/value be completely separate.

You could also use the Comment Library to insert a pre-determined set of comments to easily add them to the assignment.

If the rubric is used more as an answer key, it could be added after the availability dates are passed. It's more clicks (and you have to remember), but that could be a possibility as well.
