Canvas seems to be stuck while saving a quiz. Any suggestions?

The most common problem appears to be assignment due dates outside the current term. Instead of giving you an error, Canvas hangs. When you are in edit mode, the due dates are hidden under a Manage Due Dates and Assign To link, so it's not apparent that the dates are the issue. Once you click on the Manage link, you'll see a date warning in red.
I know this is late, but I came across this because I had the same question. I hit "save" after working on an exam and the page just say there "thinking" for well over an hour. I thought I'd have to start over... But instead I found that although the quiz itself didn't save, all of my questions were at least saved in my quiz bank. Figured I'd share in case anyone else found themself in a similar situation... Check your quiz bank before crying 😅!
Thank you! Knowing it was a quiz detail issue saved me. Mine turned out to be a due date from last semester.
Yesss, this was the culprit! Check it out before you go through all your questions wondering if one didn't save. I didn't even lose any of my revision work once I got the dates straight.
