Canvas Grade Pass-back to Eschool (TAC)

Our district is in its 2nd year of using the pass-back feature between Canvas and Eschool Plus (TAC).  Last year I had no problems.  I would put in assignments, grade them, then grade late submissions, and all would update each night starting at 6 pm and finish the next morning as it should.  This year, there seems to be an issue.  I should also say that I have some due date times that are not the same for various sections within one course.  I had this some setup last year without problems.  However, this year it seems to be causing some issues.  Ultimately, the problem is that late submissions aren't being passed back into TAC once they have been graded (so that the original 0 grade can be overridden with the new one).  I am not sure if this is truly a time issue or if there is a glitch somewhere between the two systems.  Please advise.

I apologize that your grade passback is giving you trouble this year. There could be few things that are causing this to happen. Further troubleshooting might be required to ge to the bottom of it. 

• It sounds like there is an issue with the sync that occurs nightly for your school. I am not very familiar with Eschool (TAC) and how it works in Canvas... I have used other SIS integrations in my time and they all seem to behave in similar ways. Does your course have a "grade sync" navigation link that can be viewed? you can check the course settings, under navigation if you don't see that. Sometimes you can check there to see if there are any errors listed. Canvas support can sometimes cross reference the errors to see what is causing the sync issue. 
• If so, you can try to run a remaster sync in the grade sync area of your course. (under utilities) This will attempt to sync all grades on assignments and quizzes that are set to sync back to Eschool. If it encounters an error, there should be something listed that can help narrow down what is causing the passback issue. 
• Sometimes it could be that your assignment groups are out of sync. If this is the case you can attempt to resync the categories from Eschool to canvas by going to the assignments screen, clicking on the three dots and selecting an option to sync assignment categories/groups. One the sync is performed, you would need to move any graded assignments into those sync categories. 

For this, it might be best to reach out to canvas support or your schools Canvas administrator. Be sure to provide them with a link to your course, and any additional information related to the sync issue as well as the assignments that are not syncing. They should be able to look into this and figure out what is causing this to happen.
