Hello there-
Is there a way to disable the auto-generated email when a user is added to a course? We send out our own message with instructions/how to sign in and the email from Canvas just seems to confuse people. Especially if they see that one before ours.
I've attached a screenshot of the message I'm referring to.
Thank you!

Hi @crock ,
If you are an administrator on your Canvas system, you can use the SIS Import process (https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Basics-Guide/What-are-SIS-Imports/ta-p/47 ) to enroll students in a course, and the students will simply be enrolled, not get any kind of email or invitation to join the course.
However, this requires that both the course and the students have SIS IDs set as part of their settings, since that is the field that the SIS Import process uses to identify users, courses, etc.
If you are an instructor rather than an administrator on the system, or you are using the "Free for Teachers" version of Canvas, SIS Imports is not an option you can use.
There isn't a way to suppress the invitation email from Canvas if the student is being added directly in the "People" page of the course.
