I am having an issue with assignments opening up in Speedgrader. There is just the "Spinning Wheel of Death" as I describe it. It works great for a few submissions and then it stops. I am having to download each assignment submission to grade it, and I have almost 210 students. So to do this 210 times for each assignment is making my grading life harder. Is there a work around? (I have cleared my browser history, cache and such and it works for a few assignments, and then "spinny whirl" comes back. Any advice would be apprciated.

Hi @AnnaCazel,
What you are describing is something that randomly happens and I have not found a rhyme or reason to it. The problem can also occur with any compatible file in Canvas when using the DocViewer (which is used in the SpeedGrader but with additional functionality). Usually when it happens to me, it is while I am in the middle of documenting/demoing something and it is frustrating; so I understand how you feel. Whenever I have reported it to Canvas Support, the problem either resolved itself a few minutes later or they told me (after researching it) that it was a temporary glitch.
I know this will not ease how you feel, especially when grading more than 200 submissions, but I would recommend that you just stop for about 5 or 10 minutes and then return to it or switch to a different assignment. If the document/submission does not load after that, you can then report it to Canvas Support or to your Canvas team.

Hey @AnnaCazel !
What are the students submitting? Is it a small doc or is it more like a slide deck with a lot of images? Have you tried it on a different computer to see if you can replicate the issue? This could help identify if it is something with your computer or the issue lies somewhere else.

Hello @AnnaCazel,
I often have problems with Docviewer too.
How about downloading all the files at once?
-How do I download all student submissions for an assignment?
