I'm asking about how tutors can add OneDrive files to Canvas as learning resources in a course, and whether students can view/access those files if they are OneDrive files saved in secure staff folders.

Hello @bsmaff - OneDrive folders and files can be used a few ways within Canvas.
1. In OneDrive, create and copy a share link for the folder or file. Be sure to configure the link to enable read only (not edit). Then paste that in the desired Canvas page or assignment, etc.
2. And if your Canvas instance has the OneDrive LTI app integration enabled, documents within OneDrive can be added to pages, assignments, etc. via the Canvas interface.
To embed or create a link to OneDrive files in a Canvas course, follow these steps:
- Locate the rich context editor (RCE) and use the drop down caret to select the Microsoft OneDrive tool.
Note: You may need to select view all first if this is your first time using the Microsoft OneDrive tool. - When the pop-up window appears, navigate to the file you wish to use. Check the bubble next to the file name to select it.
- Choose to either embed or create a link to the file:
- To embed the file and have it appear in a document viewer on the page in Canvas, click on the Embed button, indicated by the red rectangle in the image above.
- To create a link to the file that users will click on to open the file in a new window, click on the Link button, indicated by the red circle in the image above.
- Please note specifically students and teachers in the course will be able to see embedded OneDrive files. If you have someone you need to view the files, they may have to be a member of the course roster to view.
