Images cannot be shown on ipad or iphone when using web-based login

The images (PNG) cannot be shown when students login Canvas with an ipad using web based login. But when they use Canvas App, they can view the images. Why? Do you encounter the same problem?

It sounds like the Safari browser that students are using on their iPads might be having some issues displaying the images for some reason. 

It might take some time for you to track down exactly what is causing it for students using iPads.

Does it only do this on iPads? Or are the images not displaying while using a desktop version of Safari? 

Some things you can you try: 

• Clearing cache and cookies on the browser for "All Time." 
• Verifying that there are no blocked cookies or permissions in Safari. 
• Disabling Prevent cross-site Tracking in the Browser preferences. (This was an issue with a previous version on iOS. I believe that they resolved this with the latest version of iOS.)
• Checking with Apple support to see if they have reported any known issues with PNG images on safari.

It seems you have stumped the community with your issue! It sounds to me like it might be some privacy or cookie settings. I would suggest checking to see if their mobile browser is set to allow all cookies. Do you know what browser is being used on mobile? 

I have not heard of this exact issue before. It may be worth reaching out to Canvas Support if you have not already.
