[Student Grades] Students Should be Able to See Feedback on Previous Submissions
In my course, students are required to upload both their completed assignments and PDFs of each source they referenced. Some students initially submitted their assignments and later added source PDFs as separate submissions. As a result, my detailed feedback on their initial assignment files is no longer visible to them, as Canvas only shows feedback on the most recent submission. This situation has led to confusion for students, who are unable to access the feedback they need for improvement. This is also an issue if I want to employ the "reassign" feature, as students can't see the feedback on their initial submissions. Currently, Canvas support has informed me that the only way around this is to have students access their feedback via the mobile app. Unfortunately, this is a rather significant accessibility issue.
I suggest the addition of a feature that allows students to view feedback on any previous submission within the same assignment. This could be implemented in the following ways: Feedback History: Add a "Feedback History" section under each assignment where students can select and view feedback from each previous submission. This would allow students to access all feedback provided by the instructor, regardless of when or in what sequence they submitted additional files. Toggle Between Submissions: Enable a feature that lets both instructors and students toggle between submissions within an assignment to see both the submitted files and any associated feedback. This would make it easier for students to track revisions and feedback on each submission in a more organized way.
