Power Law is used to accurately measure a student's progress toward the standard at any time. PL gives the most recent assignments each term greater weight than earlier efforts towards mastery of a standard for an accurate measurement of student progress. Power Law is not an Outcomes Mastery Calculation option for Canvas grade book users.
Power Law is included as an option in many grade books, including Synergy and Mastery Connect. To allow for equivalent grade calculations in our LMS and SIS, please add Power Law as a calculation option for teachers who wish to apply it.
